Middlesex District Award of Merit

Middlesex DistrictAs another year has drawn to a close, we would like to take the time to recognize those Scouters among us who have gone “above and beyond” that “one hour a week” to make Scouting work in the Middlesex District.

The District Award of Merit is a Council award presented by a District to a Scouter who renders outstanding service at a district level. The basis of the award is one per twenty-five traditional units; Middlesex District may present up to two awards annually. Nominations are due by Wednesday, March 1, 2017, and are awarded at the District Dinner on March 19th.

When considering outstanding or noteworthy service, it is important to differentiate that from simply holding many positions; please make sure that you list and quantify the individual’s accomplishments. A leader who makes a real difference while performing just one job is very different from someone who may hold many positions, but has little to no accomplishments to show for it.

Please take some time to show your thanks to those in your district who make things happen!
