Monmouth Council Pinewood Derby

All 4 Districts of Monmouth Council held their Pinewood Derby Championship races. The top 15 winners (3 from each rank) move on now to the Council Races. The best of the best in each District will race for the top spots of Monmouth Council.  This race is at the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown on Friday, May 12th starting at 6 pm in the Food Court.

Come out and support your district.  Cheer on the scouts as their car races to the finish line.

“I wanted to devise a wholesome, constructive activity that would foster a closer father-son relationship and promote craftsmanship and good sportsmanship through competition.”
Don Murphy, 1953

Pinewood Derby History is made in 1953.

May 15, 1953 was the first race at the Manhattan Beach House in CA and 64 years later on May 12, 2017, we will be celebrating Monmouth Council’s 100th Anniversary Council-Wide Pinewood Derby Race in New Jersey.
