New Leader Training
To become a trained leader, you must be registered with the Boy Scouts of America and meet the requirements for your position.
To be trained as an Adult Exploring or LFL Volunteer in any position, you must complete the following courses:
- Youth Protection Training – Exploring Version (online course)
- Adult Explorer Basic Training (online course)
Youth Protection Training is offered online through the BSA Learning for Life (LFL) website. Their training site is interactive and you can go at your own pace.
Exploring Post Leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training – Exploring Version to have the proper youth protection accreditation.
Explorer Leader Position-Specific Training
All Explorer Volunteers regardless of position (Advisor, Associate Advisors, Committee Chair, and Committee Members) must take the same training course to be considered trained.
The Explorer Adult Basic Training s course is only offered online through the LFL Website’s eLearning section.
