Cubmaster

New Leader Training

To become a trained leader, you must be registered with the Boy Scouts of America and meet the requirements for your position. Below is a list of training with brief descriptions that you may need to become a trained leader. If you would like to see what is required for your position, click here.

Youth Protection

Youth Protection Training is offered online through the Boy Scouts of America National Website. Their training site is interactive and you can go at your own pace. The minimum amount of time to take the training is approximately 30-40 minutes. (Take Training Online Now!)

Leader Position Specific Training

Cubmaster Position-Specific Training is intended to provide Cubmasters with the information and tools they need to successfully lead a Cub Scout pack. Cubmasters and Assistants Cubmasters who complete this training and Youth Protection training are considered “trained” for both positions. This training can be completed in a classroom setting or online at myscouting.org.

Leader Position Specific Training

Pack Committee Position-Specific Training is designed for Cub Scout pack committee members to provide them with the basic information they need to support a pack and conduct a successful pack program. This course is conducted based on the five parts of a typical pack committee meeting and is best when delivered at one time to all members of the pack’s committee and, if possible, the Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster.

This training can be completed in a classroom setting by a qualified trainer or online at myscouting.org.

Comprehensive 1-Evening Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific Training

Course Overview

The Cub Scout Leader-Specific Training Comprehensive Version is a Monmouth Council created course designed to be able to train all of your adults in one comprehensive session. Our training team has merged the syllabuses for the Cubmaster, Den Leader, and Committee Chair positions into one course which can be delivered at your unit. Participants who complete this instructor-led course will be credited with C40, C42, and C60.  This training does not expire.
